Welcome!
Summer in Bolinas and Stinson is something special. Long beach days, shady trails, new friendships, and that tired, happy feeling at the end of it all. We’re so glad you’re here.
Welcome, campers, parents, and guardians to another season of Bolinas-Stinson Summer Camp!
Below you’ll find what to expect during our fun-filled days and weeks, along with a few important tips to help everything run smoothly.
Your Weekly Adventure Map
The Weekly Schedule is the heart of camp each week. It shows where every group will be, what they’ll be doing, and where drop-off and pick-up happen each day.
The current Weekly Schedule will be posted here by the Friday before camp begins. Week 1’s schedule will be available before opening day, so please take a look in advance.
Printed copies are also shared with parents on Tuesday of each week.
Camp days runs from 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Please aim to be on time.
VERY IMPORTANT Many days start with a group activity or departure, and when one camper is late, the whole group waits. If your child will be late, or out for the day, just send a quick note to Ellie and your counselors so we know what to expect.
Counselors are scheduled until 3:15 PM. If your camper hasn’t been picked up by then, they’ll head to the Wharf Road Dock for pickup. If you’re running late, please call your counselors directly. Their cell numbers are on the Weekly Schedule.
If pickup happens after 3:15, please plan to compensate counselors for the extra time. We appreciate you respecting their time and energy.
Drop-off and pick-up locations vary by age and by day. Younger campers often meet at Downtown Park at 9:00 AM. Older groups may meet at trailheads or other activity spots depending on the day’s plan. All drop-off and pick-up locations are listed on Your Weekly Schedule, so give it a quick check, especially if you’re picking up from different groups. Carpooling is encouraged and can make life a lot easier.
Camp Day Logistics
Best Practice for Daily Drop-Off and Pick-Up
Camp is bigger than ever, with five groups of 12 to 14 campers most weeks. We love seeing so many kids out exploring together.
With more families in Bolinas and more surf and beach camps running, drop-off and pick-up will take a little extra planning.
Carpooling helps. When pick-up is at the beach, please park in town and walk down rather than driving on Wharf Road. It’s a nice walk! It gets congested quickly, and turning around can be slow and frustrating.
Mesa Park meet-ups are usually easy. Downtown locations can be busier, so give yourself a few extra minutes.
Thanks for helping keep things calm and smooth for everyone.
Be Prepared for Camp
Each day, campers should bring a bathing suit and towel, snack, lunch, water bottle, sunscreen, hat, and sturdy shoes. Please pack plenty of food. Campers burn a lot of energy out there. A jacket in the backpack is always smart for shifting coastal weather.
On hiking or tide pool days, proper shoes are required. No flip-flops. If the right shoes are still in your car, please hand them off before you leave. If they’re at home, you’ll need to go back for them. We can’t allow campers to hike without safe footwear.
To help campers stay present and engaged, cell phones are not permitted during the camp day. Any phones brought to camp will be held by counselors until pick-up. We recommend leaving them at home. Staff can always contact you if necessary.
